Brief Course Overview

This course is designed to provide the students with competence in translating different types of written text up to the pre-intermediate level of difficulty from English into Indonesian and vice-versa. It develops students’ knowledge of the basic theory, concept and technique of translation. The translation practice materials will emphasize on grammatical, lexical and textual adjustment. In addition, the course provides the students with the knowledge of using dictionaries and other sources.

Course requirements and Grading

Midterms:        20%

Final Exam:     25%

Assignments:   45% (3 essays); Asst.1: (10%). Asst.2: (15%). Asst.3: (20%)

Attendance:    10%
